I know magnesium powder is highly flammable. Is there a process in which you can generate energy from burning magnesium? Any articles and other leads would be appreciated.Can you burn magnesium powder for energy?
Burning magnesium liberates large amounts of heat energy ... but it would be hugely difficult to control (have you ever tried putting out a magnesium fire??); and very expensive (magnesium is not a cheap metal as it has to be extracted using electrolysis).
