What is the reaction with the litmus of the product of magnesium powder with water after boiling?

Magnesium is an alkaline earth metal, and when reacts with water, has the following reaction:

Mg (s) + 2 H2O (g) 鈫?Mg(OH)2 (aq) + H2 (g)

This causes the water to become basic, and will turn the litmus blue.
