I have a jock itch, does it mix with either vaseline, baby powder or bactrician zinc anti ointment cream?

i went to a doctor about the groin irritated skin and he prescribed bactrician zinc ointment or something

after a week of use it went away but then my scrotum started itching and it too had irritated skin that hurts whenever i sweat, so it stings

people have recommended baby powder to keep the area dry, and vaseline to moisutirize the area in case it is dry skin

my question is that, which one should i use, can i use both, and should i still use the bacitrician zinc ointment even though its past a weeks a time since my doctor told me to stop using it?I have a jock itch, does it mix with either vaseline, baby powder or bactrician zinc anti ointment cream?
You mix powder with vaseline and you are going to have a mess. You need to go back to your doc and get something stronger, like a fungicide.

Or you could wear a maxi pad. Just kidding.I have a jock itch, does it mix with either vaseline, baby powder or bactrician zinc anti ointment cream?
I used to work construction and frequently had this problem. Baby powder worked everytime. I think Vaseline actually makes the problem worse because it holds in moisture.
its from not washing yourself %26gt;_%26gt; hope it falls off
Go back to what the doc had you use. Never use vaseline on any kind of rash. It does not moisturize, but is rather like putting a coating of thick oil on the rash and it will cause severe itching. Avoid powder as well because it can irritate the area even more. Do not use any kind of moisturizer on jock itch. It will only make things worse. Use what the doc gave you. That's the best and smartest way to go.
yeah go get some lamisil jock itch creme the stuff will get rid of the itch and in a couple days it should stop burning when you sweat... i had the same problem and i tried using baby powder but honestly it burned when i put it on, and although it was dry it didn't help.
You need antifungal cream. You should be able to buy from pharmacy
don't put Vaseline on it.get a powder for jock itch,or anti fungal spray.

Zinc white -Chemical name: Zinc(II)-oxide --ZnO

Talcum powder --- is a mineral composed of hydrated magnesium silicate with the chemical formula H2Mg3(SiO3)4 or Mg3Si4O10(OH)2.

Washing Soda ---- Sodium carbonate --Na2CO3

Vetsin--Monosodium glutamate or MSG is the sodium salt of glutamate. When MSG is added to foods, it provides a similar flavoring function as the glutamate that occurs naturally in food. MSG is comprised of nothing more than water, sodium, and glutamate.

Pyrite :The mineral pyrite, or iron pyrite, is iron sulfide, FeS2. It has isometric crystals that usually appear as cubes.

Chlorophyll :Chlorophyll is a green pigment found in most plants, algae, and cyanobacteria. Its name is derived from ancient Greek: chloros = green and phyllon = leaf. Chlorophyll absorbs light most strongly in the blue and red but poorly in the green portions of the electromagnetic spectrum, hence the green color of chlorophyll-containing tissues like plant leaves.

Chlorophyllotion is a chlorin pigment, which is structurally similar to and produced through the same metabolic pathway as other porphyrin pigments such as heme. At the center of the chlorin ring is a magnesium ion. The chlorin ring can have several different side chains, usually including a long phytol chain. • Zinc oxide, white powder?

zinc oxide (a white powder) is heated. There is no change in weight but the white powder turned pale yellow on heating.

It turned white again on cooling.

What's the name the white powder left at the end of the experiment?Zinc oxide, white powder?
It's still zinc oxide. Zinc oxide turns yellow upon heating and white upon cooling without altering its chemical composition.

Powdered zinc carbonate is added to a solution of nitric acid until effervescence ceases.pH level?

Does it decrease/increase to about 7 or decreases to 3 or icnrease to 12?Powdered zinc carbonate is added to a solution of nitric acid until effervescence ceases.pH level?
A solution of HNO3 will be quite acidic, perhaps around pH 1. Adding ZnCO3 will produce CO2 gas and Zn ions.

    ZnCO3(aq) + HNO3(aq) --%26gt; Zn(NO3)2(aq) + CO2(g) + H2O

When the gas production stops the H+ from the acid will have been consumed (neutralized).

In reality, there will be no Zn(NO3)2, there will be zinc ions and nitrate ions. The zinc ions will hydrolyze to a slight extent producing Zn(OH)^+ and H+. The CO2 still in solution (CO2 is soluble in water) will hydrolyze to form a weakly acidic solution:

    CO2 + H2O %26lt;==%26gt; H+ + HCO3^-

From this we can infer that after the neutralization of the HNO3, the resulting solution will still be acidic with a pH closer to 6.

    ============= Follow up ===============

    Puchhki said. ';...carbonic acid the pH will be more than 7.';

I must respectfully disagree with Puchhki. What we think of as ';carbonic acid'; is not molecules of H2CO3, but rather the equilibrium between CO2, H2O, H+ and HCO3- as I've shown above. The solution will be acidic, and therefore have a pH below 7. Carbon dioxide dissolved in water contributes to acid rain. Acid rain has a pH below 7. CO2 dissolved in water will NOT be basic as Puchhki has suggested.Powdered zinc carbonate is added to a solution of nitric acid until effervescence ceases.pH level?
effervescence cease means that nitric acid has exhausted

now the solution has carbonic acid, unreacted Zn-carbonate and ZnCl2.

because of the carbonic acid the pH will be more than 7, but not extremely high-because H2CO3 is not a strong acid

was zinc sulfide or sodium carbonate using a hydrochloric acid solution? How can one separate gold from a mixture of zinc and gold? Also, how can one determine whether a white powder?
If the white powder is sodium carbonate, when you react it with HCl, you will get carbon dioxide gas given off as one of the products of the reaction.. this gas is odorless.

If the white powder is Zinc Sulphide, when you react it with HCl, you will get sulphur dioxide gas given off as one of the products of the reaction, this gas smells like rotten eggs and is toxic.

As for the Zinc Gold mixture, you can use different methods of extraction.. both have different melting points.. you can melt the metal with the lower melting point and pour it off, or you can add a strong acid such as Sulphuric Acid to react with the mixture... Pure Gold will not react to the mixture, all the Zinc will react (in presence of enough acid) and become a salt that is soluble in water... then you just filter the gold out from the solutionHow can one separate gold from a mixture of zinc and gold? Also, how can one determine whether a white powder?
Well commenting on Paka the gas formed by the reaction of HCl to ZnS is not sulfure dioxide its hydrogen sulfide or H2S Report Abuse

Q1. Dissolve the material in a stong acid like Nitric or sulfuric acid. The Zinc should dissolve but the gold will not.

Q2. In reaction with hydrochloric acid both Zinc Sulfide and Sodium Carbonate will react- Na2CO3 forms an odorless colorless gas. ZnS will form hydrogen sulfide gas which stinks to high heaven. That would be my qualitiative test. Be careful doing this reaction in lab, as Hydrogen sulfide is a toxic gas that can be lethal. You lose the ability to smell it after exposure to high concentrations of it.
Apply heat gold will melt faster.

Added note: Contrary to what's been said (at least in the USA) obtaining such materials as zinc powder and most other chemicals is not at all difficult if you are a commercial or educational buyer. Lab supply houses will happily sell to commercial, industrial, or educational customers. For certain items, shipping may be difficult or expensive, however

Many suppliers are unwilling to sell chemicals to private persons (for a number of good reasons), but in general the purchase of most chemicals by individuals is still legal (at least in the USA). While the major suppliers will not sell to you as an individual, there are some specialty suppliers for many materials. Ebay is a good first place to try. Failing that, try ceramic and pottery suppliers and other sources such as www.skylighter.com or www.firefox.com. Note that these sources in general will sell only to persons of legal age, however. Were can i get Zinc metal powder?

First, do not coat the brake pad contact surface, that would reduce the required friction between the pad and the rotor. And that's a bad thing.

If you are looking to protect the remaining portion of the rotor, go with the zinc plating. Manufactures use zinc plating all over automobiles and often times will paint over the zinc. Powder coating won't take the heat a brake system will generate.Zinc plating vs. powder coating brake rotors?

IS Zinc and Sulphur dust added together a flash powder ?

is zinc dust plus sulphur dust a flash powder? if so what is the best ratio to make it burn fast as a pose to the ZN+S rocket fuel ratio. what is the purpose of ZN in this mixture? what is the purpose of S? by purpose i mean what is its job/ what does it do in this particular situation.

Help is much appreciated.IS Zinc and Sulphur dust added together a flash powder ?
Zinc-sulfur mixtures are some of the strangest flash powders that work. This mixture contains no oxidizing agent (which is normally required to provide supplemental oxygen to the reaction). This mixture only burns fast (as if an oxidizing agent were present) because the reaction of zinc and sulfur is forming only one product; zinc sulfide. Because a new product is being formed from both fuels, the reaction generates an enormous amount of heat and the reaction would continue even if there is no oxygen present. This fuel is not an example of an oxidation reaction in which oxygen combines with a fuel during combustion. Mixture ratios must allow for complete reaction of the fuels and for the most amount of heat to be generated.

Can somebody please help me with this, i'm just confused....What volume of 0.10 mol/dm3 sulphuric acid reacts with 1 g of zinc powder?
    Moles Zn = 1 g / 65.38 g/mol=0.015

the ratio between Zn and H2SO4 is 1 : 1

    moles H2SO4 needed = 0.015

    V = 0.015 mol / 0.10 mol/dm^3 =0.15 L =%26gt; 150 mLWhat volume of 0.10 mol/dm3 sulphuric acid reacts with 1 g of zinc powder?
153 microlitres of H2SO4 will react with 1 gram of Zinc.

Try using the molar equivalancy. Here 1 mole of H2SO4 reacts with 1 mole of Zn. the conc of H2SO4 is given as 0.1 mol/ml so it means 9.807 gm/ml now 65.4 grams of Zinc reacts with 98.07 ( molar weights ) so calculate the amount of H2SO4 that reacts with 1 gram of Zinc noe divide the value that you obtain by the conc of H2SO4 and there you will get the volume.

  • Chemistry help please on how to extract sulphur from a mixture of sulphur, zinc powder and NaBr crystals?

How do you separate a heterogeneous mixture of zinc powder, mercury, sulfur and iron?

If this is meant to be a practical question and not a theoretical one, then treat the mixture with Carbon disulfide. This will dissolve the solid Sulfur, but will not react with the metals. This step must be done in a hood or well ventilated area. Filter the mixture and the metals will be in the filter paper. Evaporate the Carbon disulfide in a closed system evaporator to get the solid Sulfur back. Although Benzene and Toluene will work, Sulfur is very much more soluble in Carbon disulfide.

Next, dry the metals and then remove the Iron using a magnetic field. Iron filings should be readily removed from the mixture. You will now have a mixture of Zinc and Mercury.

No matter how carefully you did the above steps, at least some of the Zinc will have formed an amalgam (alloy) with the Mercury. This will make the last step the most difficult. Treat the mixture with dilute Hydrochloric acid. Gently heat and agitate well. The Zinc (even the Zinc in the amalgam) will react with the acid liberating Hydrogen gas. Decant the liquid and wash with water. This will leave you with Mercury and an acidic solution of Zinc chloride.

The solid metallic Zinc can be regained by either adding an active metal (like Calcium) or by electroplating from the acidic solution. How do you separate a heterogeneous mixture of zinc powder, mercury, sulfur and iron?

How do you separate a heterogeneous mixture of zinc powder, mercury, sulfur and iron?
    1. use a magnet to pull out the iron

    2. add HCl to react with the zinc. Pour off the solution of zinc chloride. If you want the zinc back, neutralise the HCl and add calcium metal.

    3. add methylbenzene (toluene) and warm. This will dissolve the sulphur. Evaporate (in a fume cupboard) to get the sulphur back.

    4. you should be left with just the mercury!
determine their boiling or melting points.
since you have mercury it will be quite difficult to completely separate the mixture as metals form amalgams with mercury.

ok now i just hope this works,

    bubble oxygen through the mixture

S,Zn and Fe should react to form their respective oxides.

SO2 is a gas and will be displaced.

ZnO and Fe2O3 if and when formed can be removed by evaporation of the mercury.

then the iron and zinc oxides can be magnetically separated.

theoretically it should work but not sure so other posters please dont abuse me for this post.

I was thinking along the lines of reacting it with HCl, but then I would end up with ZnCl2, but I don't know of any household method of taking the Zn out of zinc chloride.

Any of you chemical engineers know of any other way?Extracting Zinc and turn it into powder?
This is a waste of perfectly good currency. However, that said, you need to separate the copper from the zinc. You're on the right track with HCl, except that you will want some nitric acid with it to totally dissolve it.

Zinc hydroxide is soluble, but copper hydroxide isn't. So use sodium hydroxide, lye, to neutralize the acid and precipitate the copper. (This is the more valuable part, by the way.) You can then electroplate the zinc as a powdery deposit using stainless steel electrodes.Extracting Zinc and turn it into powder?

Why would zinc powder burn more vigorously in oxygen that zinc foil?

The previous answer is correct but lacks some detail.

A Zinc foil has bonds between the zinc molecules. One way to think about it is this: Zinc foil has two sides that can touch oxygen. If you were to separate all the zinc molecules, or at least make it into a powder, you'd now have many more sides for the oxygen to come in contact with the zinc and therefore burns more vigorously.

In the case of foil, the oxygen contacts with only the exposed molecules first, has to interact with them and 'burn', once that interaction has taken place then another oxygen molecule has to come in contact with the next layer, and so on.

So, if you were to take zinc foil and grind it down into a powder, you are effectively increasing the surface area where the oxygen molecules can interact with zinc, meaning more interactions can happen at the same time. Why would zinc powder burn more vigorously in oxygen that zinc foil?
This is a common way of increasing the rate of reaction.Rate of reaction is proportional to the available sites for diferrent reagents.By using the powder rather than foil you let the oxygen to be in contact with more sites of zinc so what you say , happens. Why would zinc powder burn more vigorously in oxygen that zinc foil?
Greater surface area in the powder, more collisions per second, more productive collisions per second, faster rate of reaction.

I need some fanning powder because my deck of bicycle cards are getting sticky. Where can I find some fanning powder or zinc stearate in Sydney, Australia?Where can I find fanning powder (aka zinc stearate) in Australia?
You might have to try online or maybe a magic shop. One other source would be to check the contend of Baby Powders, some used to contain zinc stearate, while not as good as the stuff from the magic shops it worked and is cheaper

Whats the difference in zinc powder and zinc that you get at the drug store?

Zinc powder is finely divided metallic zinc, so fine it is like dust, but as such, is still pure, metallic zinc.

Drug stores do not sell zinc. Drug stores might sell many products containing zinc compounds, but there's nothing about metallic zinc (powder or not) which would be appropriate for use on or in the body. There are ointments with zinc oxide in them, dietary supplements with zinc compounds in them, etc. No zinc metal at the drug store.

What kind of zinc powder works best in sulphur zinc rockets?

Make sure that all the powder is very dry. Good mesh grade is needed to get a good burning rate. http://www.roguesci.org/theforum/showthr鈥?/a>

Technical grade would be fine for this application and dust vs powder if cost is close to the same. The difference between powder and dust is essentially a matter of fineness, dusts being finer. http://www.zinc.org/compounds.htmlWhat kind of zinc powder works best in sulphur zinc rockets?

How to get zinc metal (preferably powder) and sodium hydroxide for penny project?

I want to do the experiment where you turn pennies silver, then gold. I know how to do it, but I need about 1-2 grams of zinc powder and sodium hydroxide, and I don't know how to get those. First of all, is sodium hydroxide some common household cleaning product, etc, or does it go back some other common name that would be easy to find? And where could I get zinc powder, just a little bit, not a whole crate of it like science teachers might buy? :-)How to get zinc metal (preferably powder) and sodium hydroxide for penny project?
sodium hydroxide is a common pool chemical. look at a pool store.

zinc is used on boats to prevent corrosion. look at a boating store.

maybe a ';summer fun'; store would have both!

How can sulfur be extracted from a mixture of sulfur, zinc powder and sodium bromide crystals?

how can sulfur by extracted from a mixture of sulfur, zinc powder and sodium bromide crystals? please include any apparatus or important experimental details! thanksHow can sulfur be extracted from a mixture of sulfur, zinc powder and sodium bromide crystals?
Im not certain but you could add concentrated sulphuric acid to a mixture of the three. You will get Zinc Sulphate, Sodium Sulphate and Hydrobromic acid. All of these are soluble in water, Sulphur is not. So filter it and get only sulphur in the filter paper.

Or alternatively heat up the mixture to 115C and the sulphur will melt. You could probably somehow seperate them that way.

Or put the mixture in a sealed test tube with a piece of rubber tubing going to a beaker full of water. Heat it violently and the sulphur will turn to a gas. When it reaches the water it will turn back into a solid and can be filtered out of the water. How can sulfur be extracted from a mixture of sulfur, zinc powder and sodium bromide crystals?
kenneth is a turd.........only possible way. Or one could add JungTriLipton acid and sulfur will jump out and turn into a genie. Good luck XXXXX :) :) :) :) :) :) :(

  • Can I put zinc pill powder directly on a pimple?

I know that zinc pills and zinc cream can improve acne. I have been taking 1 zinc supplement (50mg) for the last 3 weeks. Does anyone have an opinion of whether or not I can put crushed zinc pill powder directly on a pimple. I have a miny breakout that I would like to clear asap and I though maybe zinc would help.

Thanks,Can I put zinc pill powder directly on a pimple?
I would not do it. Zinc pill powder is not formulated to be used directly on a pimple. Remember, zinc is also a metal and how do you know what effect it will have when you put it in contact directly with your blood capillaries?

There used to be a product for athlete's foot called ';Ting'; which contained zinc oxide. Always an experimentor, I did use that for the occasional pimple. It burned, but the pimple cleared up. Pimple medications have come a long way in 25 years. The products on the market today are very good. Stick with the tried-and-true products containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.

titanium dioxide gives better covering power.I think the stuff people use to whiten the glass on greenhouses is zinc or titanium oxide so look in gardening places.Ask a local chemist shop if they can get it for you; It's the white pigment used in sticking plasters(bandaid if your USA) and should be easy to get.
havent got a god damn clue and i dont really care.

    HOPE THIS HELPS:

    How is zinc powder manufactured?

How is it produced both industrially and small scale and what methods would be most efficient and cost effective? How is zinc powder manufactured?
It is made in grinding machines which produce a mixture of chunks of all sizes. The mixed sizes are put thru screens, which separate the big chunks from the small. The small pieces are packaged, and the oversize pieces are returned to the grinder to be re-ground.

When copper powder and zinc powder are ground together...is the result a solution or a heterogeneous mixture?

oh and i know brass is an alloy (a solid solution) of copper and zinc

can you please explain why its a solution or a heterogeneous mixture in simple terms? thanks! When copper powder and zinc powder are ground together...is the result a solution or a heterogeneous mixture?
It would be a mixture just like mixing salt and pepper, unless you heated them and blended into an alloy. Copper and zinc won't react with each other, unless there is a lot of heat or some solvent involved to form a chemical bond. When copper powder and zinc powder are ground together...is the result a solution or a heterogeneous mixture?
When you grind the solids together, the result is a heterogeneous mixture. The components are mixed, but the individual particles still retain their own identity. This mixture will have the properties of both copper and zinc, because both individual metals are present.

In a solution, the components are completely mixed with each other, and they take on a new identity. The properties change as well. Brass has different properties than copper or zinc does, because they have interacted.

    Hope that helps a bit.
It is a heterogenous mixture because the small peices are still uniquely copper and zinc.

Can i make rocket propellent using zinc sulphate powder instead of zinc powder?

Very simply - no. Zinc is a reducing agent. Zinc sulphate is not.

How to obtain sodium sulphate from mixture of sodium sulphate contaminated with zinc powder?

i want to get pure and dry crystals from the experiment, please list down steps thanksHow to obtain sodium sulphate from mixture of sodium sulphate contaminated with zinc powder?
Sodium sulfate is water soluble, zinc is not. Add distilled or deionized water to the mixture to dissolve the sodium sulfate. Filter the mixture to remove the zinc. Evaporate the water from the sodium sulfate.

Why does zinc powder and 6.0 molar sodium hydroxide cause a penny to have a silvery appearance?

i need to write a hypothesis about it!Why does zinc powder and 6.0 molar sodium hydroxide cause a penny to have a silvery appearance?
My best guess is that you have created an electrolytic solution and plated zinc onto the surface of the penny.
