Use an aerosol deoderant between your toes and on the bottom of your feet. Make sure you use a deoderant soap in the shower and wear cotton socks rather than acrylic.
Yes, they are very sweet like strawberries..I've tasted them! :D

Why do we put powder before putting socks on feet?

plz tellWhy do we put powder before putting socks on feet?
Because all the ads on TV have made us completely paranoid that if we do not make our bodies completely stink-free we will offend the Entire World, our toes will fall off, our family will talk about us, our dogs will turn up their noses and walk away, and we will, all in all, be totally devoid of all the goodness of life.

It's a bunch of garbage, but it helps a lot of companies make a tidy profit from our paranoia.

Keep your socks washed, shower regularly, use appropriate deodorant, wash your sneakers if you trompled through a swamp in them... WEAR socks with your sneakers... brush your teeth... see your dentist regularly. And don't worry about all the rest of the products. Why do we put powder before putting socks on feet?
so u wont have bad feet ordor, but only ppl whose feet stink have to do that cuz i have never done that in my life
So that th powder will saty in contact with the foot, and will completely do it's job. If you put powder on last ,

A...... It wouldn't be on your foot.

B...... if you put it on your foot, it wouldn't stay on your foot.

Do dancers powder their feet (barefoot)?

Do dancers or any performers who do barefoot activities powder their feet?Do dancers powder their feet (barefoot)?
sometime so that when they are dancing barefoot so their feet don't stick to the ground as much. but also you could use foot undeez or foot thongs which is basically like a beige ballet shoe that covers the ball of your feet. and is not very noticeable when performing.

hope i helped :)Do dancers powder their feet (barefoot)?
I've never done it, nor anyone I know. Regular powder would make the feet either slippery or, after getting a little sweaty, caked with powder, and I don't think that rosin would have a very good effect. Like the previous poster said, wearing Hermes, the little half-slippers, can help.
In my company when we have barefoot dances, people where these little footies that go over the ball of your feet, instead of powder. You can find them at any dance store.

Does lotion & powder keep feet from sweating in pumps?

So if you lotion your feet before sticking them in your high heels does that keep them from sweating and stinkin or does it make them moist tho where they will sweat?

I know one girl told me she put on lotion before putting on her boots and another said powder, then one said she was worried that her feet would be funky cause she was bare in her boots.

A professor had surgery on her foot %26amp; was bare in her pumps every day %26amp; a woman told me she wore lotion to keep her feet fresh, but her feet were ashy %26amp; i didnt smell nothing foul or was her shoes on so tight i couldnt....

So whats the verdit?Does lotion %26amp; powder keep feet from sweating in pumps?
    I would go with powder.

Most lotions are petroleum based and it really doesn't absorb into your skin. So your left with slimy feet! eewww!

But look around at your local drug store in the foot section. There are lots of products availed to help with odor there.Does lotion %26amp; powder keep feet from sweating in pumps?
the lotion makes it worst and the powder might help for a while, but you will soon sweat again
    Maybe
Unless the lotion has an ANTI-PERSPIRANT (!) in it, your feet will continue to sweat like they do everyday, regardless of what shoes you have on. Hello. That's a stupid idea.

Putting (baby) powder in your shoe will absorb some sweat, however.

Women wearing shoes that do not require socks/only require thin stockings are rather nasty for your feet. Always leads to some degree of foul odor or fungus growths on the nails. Open-toed shoes like sandals or shoes that require regular socks are best.

Pumps are for special occassions, not the daily grind.

Does lotion or powder stop sweaty feet?

A woman told me once she didnt have socks on, she just powered her feet %26amp; put her boots on so they wouldnt sweat....a professor had surgery on her feet %26amp; wore the same brown closed high heel pumps each day %26amp; a woman told me she must lotion her feet every day so they dont sweat %26amp; stink...ok is this true or what?Does lotion or powder stop sweaty feet?
I'd say that powder probably dries them out, and causes less or no sweating. I suppose it's at least worth a try. haha I hope I helped :)Does lotion or powder stop sweaty feet?
    Lotion probably won't help.

Lotion, actually, sounds like it'd worsen the situation.

But baby powder might help absorb the moisture.

And there are powders to help sweaty feet too...I just don't know of any.
Lotion may mask smelly feet and powder may soak up some of the sweat but they make products for this problem or you can use spray deoderant/anti-perspirant on your feet. Good Luck!

    Foot powders and sprays effective?

Ok, I just went to the store and got a foot spray to prevent foot odor when I wear flats. I got the brand ';Odor-eaters.'; It also said it cures most athlete's foot, which I don't think I had... I sprayed it on my feet and on my flats. I think it worked, really well, but how often do I have to use it? When will it wear off? Oh, and I also bought those socks to wear with flats (cotton ones) and will that help prevent odors as well? I sprayed the stuff on my shoes too. Is there any further action I need to take to prevent odor? Or is what I did enough?Foot powders and sprays effective?
Odor arrives for a reason. Initially, one would wonder why people get close to your feet to smell them. Of course, young girls often can find guys willing to bow before you.

    Smiles.

Have you considered the reason for the odor? The source is rarely simply the feet being confined. If the shoes are leather (which breathe) and the socks are cotton (which breathe), you can expect a minimal odor.

To reduce odor, please consider that the body excretes sweat and oils through the skin. So if your food intake includes substances which the body must rid itself of promptly, you can expect an increase in odor. For example, if you drink soda (especially caramel colored soday), if you eat sugar-laden foods (McDonald's french fries, for instance), then you can expect the odor to increase.

You should NEVER restrict your body from ridding itself of waste. You can use a deoderant under your arms, but never an anti-prespirant. The deoderant allows for the passage of sweat, the anti-prespirant does not. If you wish to harm yourself, Raynay, then you can violate any of the laws of physics.

Please consider a healthier diet and no spraying anywhere. Use baking powder on your feet, in moderation.

If you are still concerned about foot odor, tell the boys they need not bow.

Once again,i have tried peeing on my athletes foot, powders, creams, cornstarch anything else i can try?

Peeing on your feet could be the problem, no?Once again,i have tried peeing on my athletes foot, powders, creams, cornstarch anything else i can try?

Does baby powder help with not making your feet swell?

and if not... what helps it....

because my feet swell and i want them to fit perfectly in these shoes, that fit me but are a itty bit snug...dont say buy a bigger size shoe.Does baby powder help with not making your feet swell?
What shoes do you want to wear? If they are dress shoes, wear stockings can help a lot, because you are less likely to get blisters and your feet won't get sticky. Now they sell stockings and pantyhose without toes.

Also if you wear them a lot in your house before wearing it outside will help break in your shoes.

I feel silly but my feet sweat in most of my shoes. I tried baby powder but it didn't work...?

I wear my shoes while at work and my feet sweat and stink i kick them off while working so it don't get bad but i still get like mud almost in them! my feet are clean i clean those shoes daily after i wear them and before i put them on! still not working!

any idea'sI feel silly but my feet sweat in most of my shoes. I tried baby powder but it didn't work...?
I saw this on Oprah, tried it....it works well.

Dr. Oz said to take 12 teabags of iced tea. Boil water and let the teabags soak until you have a really strong tea. Allow it to cool to room temp.

Soak your feet in it every day for a week for 30 minutes. The tea will ';tan'; your feet, which will dry up the sweat glands. ( I did not notice a color change in my skin, so don't worry about your feet becoming dark.)

Good luck!I feel silly but my feet sweat in most of my shoes. I tried baby powder but it didn't work...?
You can try rubbing deodorant on the bottoms of your feet before putting on socks and shoes.

You can try corn starch in your shoes

You can also try a product I saw in Walgreens the other day. It is an aerosol type bottle, but you push it down into your shoe to make it spray and it is supposed to help smelly shoes.
change shoes several times a week if possible.

use a light coating of your regular deodorant on your soles. sprinkle baking soda in the shoes and let it sit over night. empty the shoe before you wear it.
I use an aersol deodorant, since it will spray a little more evenly than the solid type. Like others have suggested, a powder specially formulated for feet can also help. Cornstarch is another option. Also, Kiwi has a type of dress shoe insert that is lightly scented; they work in other types of shoes as well, but they're marketed for dress shoes. I think they're called Fesh'ns or something like that. They're super thin and don't slide around inside your shoes. Plus, they're cheap. Also, when you wear a pair of shoes, let them air dry for at least one day, preferably two before wearing them again. If you can, alternate between 3 pair.
Get a jar of Boric Acid %26amp; apply a little to your feet each day before you put your shoes on. It soaks up the sweat %26amp; eliminates the odor. When wearing socks with shoes, do the same thing or sprinkle just a wee bit in each sock. It helps to wear only cotton white socks, also.
Two things you can try - first is a 'natural' antipersperant, it's solid, almost like a big rock of salt, it's called a 'crystal'. You wet it and rub it on the place on your body that you want to inhibit sweating.

Second is an antipersperant/deodorant that contains 'enzymes'. Enzymes are live cultures that actually eat bio-matter.

Remember, it's not your sweat that's causing the bad smell, it's the bacteria that are present that are causing the bad smell.

I'd recommend a deodorant with enzymes in it to do the trick.

I know it works, my pets have an additive called 'slurp and fresh' that I add to their water bowl to make their mouths smell fresh, it contains ENZYMES.

When my dog was a puppy and had accidents in the house I bought a cleaning product at Petsmart called Petzyme, it contains ENZYMES.

Enzymes eat all that biological stuff that causes the smell.

Best place to get the enzyme deodorant is your local healthfood store.
Well - Here are a few things that you can do to help your sweating foot problem - They make alot of foot deodorizers that you can buy at your local supermarket or drugstore..I think Tenactin makes one and I know Dr. Shoal's definitely makes a few products for your problem - They make everything from sprays to foot baths to powders - and these products are specifically designed to help your specific problem - They are inexpensive and work very well - I have personally tried them..especially in the summer time - You have to be careful also in regards to to much sweat on your feet..You can develop Athlete's Foot - Especially be careful b/c you are wearing a friends shoes..Hope this helps.
Get some foot powder, it will work better than baby powder...:)
Try foot powder not baby powder. also white light socks help. If all else fails can you wear sandles?
You could try wearing cotton soak´s also you can change the inner sole´s. Pop into your local chemist they will suggest which is best for your feet, They are always very helpful. It could also be the kind of shoes you wear. Ask them for advise
Try buying some Lavlin food deodorant. You can get it at health food stores or on the internet. It is awesome and I think it helps sweating as well.
Try using antiperspirant that you would use under your arms. That way it will help keep them dry.
I saw on oprah one time that if you soak your feet in tea, it can be cold or room temp or what ever. That the natural enzimes in the tea will releive the feet smell . It might stain your feet but not to bad.
Is it because they're cheap shoes?

No offense but smelly feet are usually the result of bad shoes

Try changing your shoes for a different type

Ive noticed odor when i wear flats without socks. I dont think your feet are the problem. Its just that your feet sweat the sweat gets trapped in the shoes and starts to stink. There is less of a problem when you wear shoes with socks because they absorb the moisture. What I do is sprinkle the inside of my shoes with a generous amount of baking soda and leave them sit for a while. Usually does the trick! How long does it take for baby powder to get rid of foot odor and some other questions?
if your shoes are smelly put some bicarb soda in them, it has the same texture as powder and does a fantastic job of soaking up odours, you will find it in the kitchen cupboard if you do not know what it is, wearing flats without socks is fine, but would contribute to your feet smelling. Maybe you could get some of those stocking sockette things that you can't see when you are wearing them with flats that would definatley help. Throw out any shoes that are really offensive and start fresh, put a small amount of bicarb in them even if they are new as prevention can be the cure, good luck.

Keep the feet dry.Use antibiotic powder if there is secondary infection.

Is it true that if you put baby powder on your feet that it stops them from smelling?

    Odor means bacteria at work.

Disinfect all your shoes with Lysol spray, or some similar disinfectant product, and then wash and disinfect your feet. Continue to disinfect your shoes for at least a week to ten days, every night.

Masking the odor is not the answer. Get rid of the bacteria before the problem escalates to a serious infection.

Foot odor is caused by bacteria. Soak all your socks in bleach and water over night. Wash your shoes and socks in bleach and water.

Soak your feet in a mild solution of bleach and water. (I know everyone says bleach is so bad, but I have never had a problem.) If you just don't want to bleach your feet, soak them in baking soda and water.

Keep your feet as dry as possible. As soon as you get home from work take off your shoes and set them outside, rinse your feet, and just run around in bare feet , or socks. Let your feet gets some air. Setting your shoes outside will make sure they are completely dry before you were them again

I prefer Zederna insoles. They are made from cedarwood which binds moisture (the main reason for foot odor) and additionally has important antibacterial effects. Maybe you give it a try. Report Abuse

    Causes

Foot odor may be caused by sweaty feet and rapidly growing bacteria.

    Prevention

To avoid foot odor, use preventive measures. Wear cotton socks, as they will absorb perspiration and allow the feet to breathe better than synthetic ones. Leather or open shoes (sandals) are better than synthetic ones. Change your shoes daily in order to give them a chance to dry out. Buy a foot scrubber at your pharmacy and scrub your feet.

    Remedies

    Folk

Alum Purchase some alum in the spice section of your supermarket. Mix one teaspoon with one or two gallons of water in a container, and soak your feet for 30 minutes; rinse with clear water; repeat after four days. If you do this once a month it will eliminate foot odor. Courtesy James H. Mary.

Antiperspirant Spray the bottom of your feet with an antiperspirant. This will stop the wetness, and, hopefully, the cause of the odor. Note: if you also have cracked skin it may be cleared up, too, but the antiperspirant may irritate the skin.

Apple cider vinegar To control the odor, soak your feet several times a week in one-third cup of vinegar added to a small pan of warm water.

Baking soda Sprinkle baking soda inside your shoes to absorb moisture and odors.

Radishes Juice about two dozen radishes, add 1/4 teaspoon of glycerine, and put in a squirt or spray-top bottle. Use as an underarm deodorant or to reduce foot odor.

Soap Wash your feet daily with soap (an antibacterial soap is preferable). Make sure you dry your feet and toes thoroughly. This will get rid of dead skin where the bacteria may be growing.

Tea Boil a quart of water and add 5 tea bags. After the water cools, soak your feet for 30 minutes. The tannin in the tea is an astringent, which will prevent your feet from perspiring.

Zinc Take a zinc supplement, or make sure you are getting at least 15 milligrams in your multi-vitamin. This remedy should reduce or eliminate the odor within a week or two. If it starts coming back, increase the amount to 100 milligrams for a few days. The zinc may make the skin more resistant to the bacteria causing the odor. Don't take more than 15 mg. of zinc for more than a week or two without medical supervision as high levels of zinc can interfere with the absorption of copper.

Zinc oxide Find a foot deodorant containing zinc oxide and herbs.
Just wear sandals without socks so your feet can always get fresh air. Your feet may get a little cold in the winter but anyway they will not give off any order.
do you gert the nasty *** calusses on the bottom of your feet? I have to use a pumice stone to make my feet acceptable to show in public and it happened to help with some of the stink. Change the socks at noon
What used to work for me was putting charcoal in my shoes overnight, every night. Also, only wearing cotton socks because the all natural fibre helps with odour. You could try the wool socks with the built in wick away moisture feature. On the same thought train, shoes that are made out of non synthetic materials are better, especially leather. Leather will help keep the odour down. What she said about the medical problem is true, but I don't think you would need to worry about it. My doctor also suggested to me to walk in bare feet in cat litter when entering the house. It seemed to work, too. I hope it helps!
It may not be your feet. I had the same problem for years Believe me I didn't want to be in the same room as my feet.I went to a herbalist for another issues and the foot odor problem came up. The herbalist told me it had to do with toxins in my body. She gave me some inexpensive herbs and with in a week the odor was almost gone. It has been 8 years and still no odor
People that usualy have smelly feet, need more zinc in their diet.
Wash with an antibacterial soap like Dial. Then use some foot powder that absorbs. Of course, I'm assuming you wear cotton socks each day. Maybe some essential oil foot sprays might work for you or something with alcohol in it bc that dries. Your feet prob. just sweat more than average. If all else fails, see a doc to make sure you don't have an infection or fungus.
If medicated powders and sprays aren' working it may be a medical condition...go see your Dr..it is usually cured by paiting the botom of your feet with formaldihyde
May need to get something for atheletes foot. Still need to wash them everyday. You got bacteria under the toe nails.
Do you know someone in a lab (or a school lab)? You could ask them for a small bottle of formaldahyde...tell them what you want to do with it.

    Here's how it works:

Put about 1 Tablespoon into a pail of water, and soak your shoes %26amp; your sox in this 'bath' overnight. (O/C your shoes will take awhile to dry, so you'll need another pair to wear while these dry).

You can put your FEET in this solution too for about 15 minutes or so. (Ask the lab clerk how long).

    THIS FLAT OUT WORKS

    I think it's a condtion you'll outgrow someday.

How much gun powder should be used to launch a firework 50 feet in the air?

And no, I'm not planning on making an actual firework. How much gun powder should be used to launch a firework 50 feet in the air?
If you aren't going to make it, then why do you care? Sorry, that must be the programmer in me asking a logic statement. NM. Anyways,

You didn't mention the mass or shape of the projectile. The weight of the object is a MAJOR consideration so assuming you are launching on Earth, the mass must be known because Earth gravity is a constant and the mass will give us weight (you could also just weigh the thing, if you are on earth now). The shape of the object must be known because Earth atmosphere has a specific composition and therefore a specific known and constant drag coefficient given your specified launch altitude and knowing the relative humidity at launch, of course. The complex physics involved in determining altitude given a certain variable force must take into account the shape of the object in order to compute drag upon same.

You also didn't mention what exactly your ';gunpowder'; (as if there were only 1 known compound listed under that common nym) is composed of. That must also be a known constant.

Can you be more specific, please? If you can, I will give you your figure.

Thank you!How much gun powder should be used to launch a firework 50 feet in the air?

Its on the bottom of my foot. They'll be putting more on me today. Should I let them? I'm worried about the ingredients of the powder, as most of them seem to be for construction purposes....Athlete's foot treatment: Menthol Powder, Sodium Silicate, Brimstone, Triple Sulphate Pow, Kaolin. Is this ok?
Athlete's foot may last for a short or long time and may come back after treatment.Athlete's foot treatment: Menthol Powder, Sodium Silicate, Brimstone, Triple Sulphate Pow, Kaolin. Is this ok?
my teacher told me that, Athlete's foot will only exist if our foot is often wet, because the bacterial that are growth in it are favorable in this kind of environment to grow,

A simple powder is an excellent treatment for athlete's foot. The fungus that causes athlete's foot likes to live in moist places. A powder will help keep the foot dry and prevent athlete's foot from becoming a problem. Many powder products are available to use in the treatment of athlete's foot--the brand is not particularly important.

are you sure they called it as foot rot?

foot rot is actually for the animal disease that is commonly found in sheep, goat, and cattle,..

Haha, do what I do: Buy a can of Arrid Aerosol Deodorant and before you put your socks on, spray your feet. It works like a charm and it's cheap. Your feet stay nice and dry and smell nice too.
I use the Arrid XX deoderant in an aerosal can.

    It helps alot.

(I use a regular roll on in the pits...lol)
You need to wear COTTON socks, not nylon.

And get some spray made for foot odor.
Just put some baking soda in your shoe. The odor should go away...it worked for me!!
baking soda absorbs odors well and it's like 50 cents a box

    Lamisil--athlete's foot medication cream/powder?

    Hi,

Very recently, I think I have contracted the 'foot fungal'. I had gone to purchase a Lamisil cream and applied it to the toes. However, about an hour after applying it to the infected toes, it began to tingle and itch greatly. Is this natural after the cream application?

    TQA for any info.

Happy New Years, too.Lamisil--athlete's foot medication cream/powder?
I think you're fine and you should give it some more time. You could also have it on other parts of the foot and not know it so you should put it all over the foot and when you do, you should put on a fresh pair of socks and don't wear shoes that smother you feet if you can help it. The itching could just be a simple reaction to the medication, maybe it's working. I don't know if it ever makes my feet itch because it's been awhile since I've had to use that stuff. I could say that if you think it's an allergic reaction then take some benadryl and see if that helps. You can also soak your feet in water with baking soda and that will help stop the itch. After you soak your feet though, dry them off really well and put the medication back on with a new pair of socks. When you wash your laundry make sure to wash your socks in bleach.Lamisil--athlete's foot medication cream/powder?
It sounds like you may be allergic to an ingredient in the cream... try a powder ( it's not as concentrated) and if that doesn't work or you have a simmiler reaction you should call your doctor and let him know... he can perscribe something different. good luck!
I've always used Tinactin for athlete's foot (spray). I don't like the creams, they are oily and never dry. It sounds stupid, but John Madden is right, ';Tough Actin' Tinactin.'; It works!!

Do I just apply baby powder under my feet to reduce the feet odor?

I have to dress semi casual at work and I usually wear heels and on a hot summer day my feet tend to sweat. Do i just apply baby powder under my feet to reduce the odor?Do I just apply baby powder under my feet to reduce the feet odor?
Spray deodrant on your feet like you would for your underarms. There's no rule that says that you can only use deodarant for underarms. It won't hurt your feet at all. They do make little sockie thingamagigs that are real small and strech to conform to just the bottom of your feet that don't ride up high on the ankle or the toes which you probably could wear with high heels and which could be concealed under your shoe to help with perspiration.Do I just apply baby powder under my feet to reduce the feet odor?
Apply zincofax or any kind of baby bum cream with zinc to your feet about once a week. Rub it in pretty good and into the creases.
No actually you should use baking soda it naturally absorbs odors!
if you are a baby that would apply, you probably would do better with something that is age appropriate.
Believe it or not try underarm deodorant.
BUY A SPRAY THAT CURES ATHLETES FEET.
Wash your feet, wear only leather shoes and buy some foot deodorizer, problem solved
have a dip in slightly warm water mixed with lime ..
You could also use some men or women's antiperspirent and or deoderant on your soles of your feet. I would make sure that you use the clear kind..

How do you get rid of smelly feet besides powder or spray?

    Amputation!!

That would solve your problem for good....hehe

    no, seriously I don't know.

Socks make you sweat and sweat makes your feet smell more because they restrict air circulation causing your feet to warm up. Try sandles with no socks. How do you get rid of smelly feet besides powder or spray?
My ex used to have terrible foot odor until the doctor told him to buy a jar of Boric Acid %26amp; sprinkle just a little bit into his socks, before putting socks on each day. The doctor suggested white cotton socks, %26amp; that was the end of his foot odor. I kid you not.

Note: You don't need much Boric Acid in each sock, just a very little bit. Add a little more if the odor persists. How do you get rid of smelly feet besides powder or spray?
I learned from a nurse that bathing your feet in herbal tea gets rid of the smell. Worked on my brother's feet. (they smelled like roadkill)
    take a shower
Go to a doctor and have an allergy test..Sometimes a food allergy can manifest it self with body and or foot odor...Otherwise baking soda can help...
Try taking some Zinc supplements, its also suppose to help kick cold viruses as well.
People get stinky feet from shoes also. A good way to eliminate odor in tennis shoes is to wad up newspaper and stick in there. It works great! BTW, take the paper out before inserting foot!
wash them often with a good strong soap
    lime
Amputate. Preferably their noses if they're invading your privacy that much.
Wash them every once in a while!
Don't wear shoes as often, and when you do make sure you are wearing clean cotton socks and breathable shoes. The stinkiest feet live in plastic!
    ...wash them...

    ...wear clean socks...

...cut them off at the ankle...
    sprinkle baking soda in shoes
smelly feet is usually the result of sweaty feet. so be proactive and use deodorant on the bottoms of your feet.
if u can subject them to sun from time to time and always air them
Be sure to clean out the dirty gunk in the corner of your toes, kind of under the edge of the toe nail. Also be sure to wash your feet good at least once a day directly with soap and water. Be sure to change your socks at lest once a day and let your shoes air out whenever you are not wearing them.
Amputate your feet, and feed them to your dog, or shove your feet in water
Foot Doctor, soak 'em in vinegar/water, baking soda, wear different shoes, wash them better next time

  • I have a cast on my foot. How can I keep it from getting ';funky';...aside from keeping it dry? Baking powder?

Yeah I got this cast and who knows how much longer I have to wear it. I've kept it dry,but I know it'sgoing to get funky and smelly soon. What can I do or use to keep that from happening? Can't let this effect my ';social life'; lol!!! Thought about baking powder...what does anyone suggest? What's worked for anyone?I have a cast on my foot. How can I keep it from getting ';funky';...aside from keeping it dry? Baking powder?
Let it get plenty of fresh air %26amp; keep it uncovered as much as possible. My daughter had great success wearing negative ion socks which helped prevent perspiration %26amp; odour when she had her foot in a cast too. If u rest your foot it will get better quicker too.I have a cast on my foot. How can I keep it from getting ';funky';...aside from keeping it dry? Baking powder?
Not baking powder. Preferably keep it dry and avoid activities that make you sweat. Elevate unless you are advised to maximize bloodflow for healing, which also makes heat and swelling. Not much you can do but put up with it. Good luck!
Try regular powder, NOT baking powder. That may make it itch. I would either do that or let it air out with no covering as in no sock or such. I would not let the smell get the best of you.

Theoretically speaking of course, would athletes foot powder treat feminine itch?

I have a friend of a friend who has an issue with some itch in the nether regions and she doesn't want to buy the feminine products, but has athletes foot powder readily available. She was also thinking that with her foot fetish that it may be especially applicable for her... I must say I have seen photos of some of these feet, yes she keeps and album of her foot conquests and well doing that with those just doesn't seem sanitary to me... does anyone have any info on this? She said it really itches and needs some direction here! She also has some kind of foot spray....Theoretically speaking of course, would athletes foot powder treat feminine itch?
It nice to have friends like you.....

if this were true then, I could avoid the embarrassment of buying Lamisil and Tinactin for my athletes foot at the local Walgreens. As I am always trying to impress the young cashiers/ lab tech there, your telling me I can now purchase Vagisil instead?? Excellent.

Theoretically speaking of course, would athletes foot powder treat feminine itch?
While powders used to treat athlete's foot have similar anti-fungal ingredients as those used to treat ';feminine itch'; problems, it is not appropriate to use foot powder on your vaginal area.

Antifungal powders are intended for use on skin, not the mucosal tissue of the genital region. The powder itself, plus any inactive ingredients (such as anti-caking agents used to keep the powder from clumping) can be very irritating to the delicate tissue in a lady's nether regions.

Use products that are intended for use in the genital area. Don't improvise when it comes to your vagina, OK?
She may not want to go that route. Most products have Mentholatum in them and the out come is similar to placing bengay on the area. (and let me tell you that is not very pleasant)....*hides face in shame*

Ever heard of the saying if it's burning it's working....yeah that's not true in this case.
I don't think it's going to work. Unless, however, she got the itch from an athlete's foot. What she needs to do is figure out what foot (if any) caused the itch. I would also recommend she stays away from that foot in the future.
Tell your..ahem..';friend';, to always keep rubber socks within foots' reach from now on..

    (wink, wink-nudge,nudge-say no more..)
is it possible that she woke up in the closet next to Ted? Or Hattie?

    That woman worries me.

    Speaking of foot,....where is Leftfoot?

What am I to do when foot powder doesn't work to prevent excessive sweating?

I asked this question before long ago, but I didn't get good answers. Someone also voted 'No Best Answers,' and I guess that automatically deletes the question. Honestly though, I could care less about my feet sweating profusely because for one, it has pros. I makes my feet comfortable when I'm barefoot and/or wearing slippers, and because of it, I don't get callouses or hard skin, ever. Nonetheless, it has its cons as well. I'm sure the sweating is a part of my genetics, as the same thing happens with my hands, and my little sister has the same problem, but I'm sick of it happening in my shoes often. I wear socks with my tennis shoes, but when I take them off, they're literally soaked. Very rarely do I wear sock with flats, heels, sandals, and so on. Even in those, and open footwear such as flip-flops, they still sweat profusely. Therefore, I'd like to know, can I solve this problem without foot powder or medications? If so, please help.

Thanks! ^__^What am I to do when foot powder doesn't work to prevent excessive sweating?
well, there are certain ';breathable shoes'; that you can buy. they have a layer of something (lol) and it helps your feet breathe. i think most trainer brands do breathable ranges.

i think there's also a specific brand - geox that do breathable shoes; they do all sorts, not just trainers.

    hope this helped:)

  • Gold bond/Lotramine Athlete's Foot Powder Swollen Reaction?

Prior to this reaction; 2 days ago I soaked my foot in diluted bleach, and had 'normal' skin/foot for a day inbetween then and now. I called poison control about the bleach exposure and they basically said that would not cause this and the amount of bleach when mixed w/ water is no cause for alarm. (even though it was a strong ratio) So with that question out of the way, I can only attribute it to the powders that were intoduced today.

I applied both Gold Bond Maximum strength (blue bottle) and Lotramine AF powders to my toes today at lunch to combat itchy athelete's foot. Tonight my foot is ever so slightly red, swollen and kind of numb. I have since washed my foot to clean it from these powders and now that it's dry its kinda of scaly/ cracked skin and feels like pins and needles.

When I move my toes, they are swollen to the point where a mass of skin kind of bunches up at the base of the toes when flexed up toward the sky...like they are fat. (I'm a skinny guy) It also kinda hurts to move them around.

Will this just go away? Did I OD on Gold Bond? (My foot kind of has that winterfresh tingly feeling to it, but swollen and not healthy/normal looking) Did mixing the two powders disturb the actual tissue/muscule of my toe region? Was there residuals of bleach that reacted w/ the powders? What should I do? I dont think it's to the point where I should seek medical attention, but if the swelling doesnt go down by tomorrow, I will prob get it checked out.

To add, there is a slight clear discharge of fluid from a small crack in the skin presumably from atheletes foot...and the skin surface looks really dry.

Any help would be appreciatedGold bond/Lotramine Athlete's Foot Powder Swollen Reaction?
I KNOW THIS IS HORRID BuT IT WoRKS Pee on your Infected areas it wILL clear up THe probLem fast without irritation someone suggested it to me i did it once and I never got it again goodluckGold bond/Lotramine Athlete's Foot Powder Swollen Reaction?
Athlete's foot is a condition caused by the fungus candida albicans. The Lotrimin is an anti-fungal. I would encourage you to seek medical attention tomorrow if the swelling does not go down. Ice packs may assist in reducing the swelling.
If your feet are over dry they can swell up which is kinda what your problem sounds like. But some extra moisterizing lotion on it and moisterize your feet. The swelling should go down. Dry skin would also explain the pain, dry skin is painful and has a tight feel to it. In my experiance Gold bond doesn't work well for me (I have dry skin). I use Aveeno. I would stay away from bleach, in chemistry you learn that bleach is actually really bad and on the bottle it says to wear gloves when cleaning with bleach (I believe it does, but now I'm not sure). Bleach would definitly contribute to the dry skin (it really drys my skin out) and I would avoid it. I haven't ever had athletes foot so I don't know what works for that, but I think if you keep your feet clean, dry, and moisterized (not too much), then you should be just fine. Good Luck, I hope you feel better.

Do you use foot powder and BodyGlide/Vaseline at the same to prevent blisters?

Again, running my first marathon. I blistered around mile 8 when I ran a half marathon, which I feel affected my performance.

I've been reading a lot of answers on here and have gotten good responses from my earlier questions. But now I'm a little confused.

Right or Wrong (to prevent blisters):

-- Moleskin or J%26amp;J Waterproof Tape

-- BodyGlide, Blister Block or Vaseline

    -- Double-layered socks

-- Foot powder or corn starch

I want to try all of these together, but am not sure if the foot powder/corn starch at the bottom of the shoe works appropriately with the Vaseline/BodyGlide on the foot in the sock.

Wouldn't the combo just make or mess? Please advise.

    Thank you,

Gold Bond foot powder for body sweat?

I tried Gold Bond Foot powder under breasts for sweat....seems to work. Used Vagisil powder--but was still itchy!

The foot powder was more absorbent under breasts. I may consider using it for other body crevices i.e. butt where we sweat--but air cant get to easily

Do you use it as a body powder?

I'm going to ask GYN if some thing out there that can help sweat in body creases as they do get irritated when they are wet--and they ITCH! Breasts, legs, butt crease etc...

What works for you??Gold Bond foot powder for body sweat?
Honestly my mom and I use the same thing GOLD BOND or baby powder. Also Vagisil cream works great when it's already broke out. See our family doctor told us that it's like a yeast infection so use yeast infection cream works great I'll tell you that much. Also use GOLD BOND for underarms I break out from sweat there too.

Gold bond is very strong and its good but you should be very careful. If your feet sweat a lot then put it on as you dress to go and do various activities. Not a lot.Gold bond foot powder. WHENN!?
I use regular Gold Bond wherever powder is needed after a shower. I have a tendency to athlete's foot, so make sure my feet are dried, even under the nail, and use powder every day. You can put more on before exercising to prevent chafing when you exercise or before you go out into the heat.
hey, its great stuff, and just dust it on after you are showered %26amp; have dried off. it actually helps prevent athlete's foot because it is slightly acid. don't cake it on, just a nice evenly dusted layer is all you need.

I have very sweaty feet from hyperhidrosis and my feet smell like soap/sweet which is a horrid smell that fills up a decent sized room in minutes. I've tried Dr. Scholls and Odor-eaters foot powder but they seem to make my feet smell worse! SO i was wondering if anyone has tried Gold Bond and if it worked, when Scholls and/or Odor-Eaters failed.

thxDr. schools %26amp; odor eaters foot powder DIDNT WORK! Anyone try GOLD BOND powder/spray?
The key is to keep your feet dry. Any kind of absorbent powder usually does the trick. ALso get some well vented shoes. They type with holes in the sides to let out that hot moisture. Try using antibacterial soap on your feet also because that bad smell is bacteria thriving in that moist environment. Athletes foot fungus can also smell, so it cant hurt to throw in some anti-fungal cream every few days.

There is an easy surgery that cuts the sympathetic nerves in your feet to cure this if it is real bad and causing you a lot of trouble.

The old fashioned remedy used to be potassium permanganate. Just a few granules mixed with water and applied with a cotton bud but it stings and stains the area to which it is applied. It works really well though.

Daktarin powder or cream is more commonly used these days.

My husband uses sudo cream as it drys it and heals it well you can buy this from any chemist. My athletes foot flares up after i shower?? i dry between my toes and put an athletes foot powder on! any tips
Make sure that your feet are totally dry. Check that the shower is sprayed with bleach or something like that to prevent the fungus from spreading. Wear rubber flip flops in the shower to prevent picking up the fungus again.

Air your feet as much as possible, remove shoes/runners when you can.

    Annie
Try an anti-fungal creme. The athlete's foot medicines come in a creme version. It absorbs better into the skin and kills the fungus.

I am wondering why you still have symptoms if you are using the medicated powder correctly. Are you showering in a truck stop? Is your shower cleaned regularly (with bleach?) Maybe you r shoes themselves are infected and should be replaced?

Also, using the creme will work-- but you have to follow the instructions and apply the medicine for the recommended number of days.
Re.For your dry or cracked feet check this site out: http://waterproofsock.com/

Waterproof Sock is the ONLY unit that would fit snugly around your feet and ankle. It will protect your skin from the harsh chemical of pool's water, like Chlorine and Bromine, Waterproof sock, protects your feet from Verrucae, athlete’s foot and other foot infections commonly found in the indoor swimming environment. Simply, slip it on your feet prior to entering a swimming Pool or Jacuzzi, This would help the skin and feet retain its original moist, so your skin won’t dry or crack.
Leave your shoes off as much as possible. Contrary to a widely believed myth, it is not the sole-to-ground contact that presents a risk so much as it is feet going back into the moist, dark, warm environment found inside shoes. This a perfect incubator for any fungus or bacteria. Closed-toe shoes especially are ideal incubators for fungi and bacteria to live and breed. Allowing the feet to “breathe” also prevents foot odor because its ususally the shoe that smells, not the foot.
I couldn't get on with powder, but I found Daktarin ointment very good. Also, certain brands of shower gel and scented soaps made my Athlete's Foot flare up. Finally, do not use fabric conditioner when washing your socks. Hope this helps
It may sting a bit but surgical spirit clears up athletes foot very well. Just apply a little after the shower.
Tiger Balm, works for me, you never know.

Can foot powder work for diaper rash?

im just askingCan foot powder work for diaper rash?
I'm sure it would ';work'; but that would be to harsh to put on a precious little butt. Can foot powder work for diaper rash?
    no

best cure is nakey butt time
I'm not sure I would want to try it as baby powder because powder that is used specifically for the feet probably has medication in it for athletes foot and other diseases of the foot and it may not be suitable for baby's tender bottom and genitals.

Get regular baby powder, medicated or otherwise or use cornstarch.

    Good luck.
My doctor suggested it once when it was a yeast diaper infection. Monistat works better, though.
NOOOOOOO!!!!! it will rub them raw. it ahjs harsher chemicals in it... it will only make them scream. use desitin instead.
Powders aren't the best thing for baby, they can breathe them in.

If it's a YEAST infection you would consider these anti-fungal things, and I'd go for your yeast infection topical cream first.
No Let their butt breath and use only plain cornstarch.
i'm pretty sure it doesnt. but check what it is made of compared to what is in baby powder
    NO

Besides keeping one's feet clean daily, and using a foot powder is there anything else that can keep feet from

smelling bad? It happens when I wear sneakers. Altho the sneakers are washed often, nothing is helping.Besides keeping one's feet clean daily, and using a foot powder is there anything else that can keep feet from
Your Socks!! Check to see what the material is..alost of socks are mixed blends. Its the polyester in the socks that make your feet stink. Make sure you wear only 100% cotton socks.Besides keeping one's feet clean daily, and using a foot powder is there anything else that can keep feet from
You need more than one pair of shoes so you can air each pair out every day and wear a different pair.
    I have a foot fetish,

    so I would lick them,..,

    nothing stinking about that.,
Get more than one pair of sneakers. Don't wear them every day alternate between the pairs, and ALWAYS wear clean socks. Even if you don't think you have athletes foot, use an anti-fungal cream/spray for a month or so. We all have some degree of fungus on our feet, this might be part of the odor problem.

No matter how much you wash your old tennies you will not completely get rid of the odor.
The smell comes from the sweat glands in your feet, so if you wear a pair of socks, specifically cotton ones, they absorb the moisture that comes from your feet and the smell is not so bad, and sometimes disappears altogether.

Is deciding to use foot powder a sign of spiritual maturity?

I left my running shoes under my desk at the office. When I walked in this morning it just about killed me.

    Anyone have any incense?

:-PIs deciding to use foot powder a sign of spiritual maturity?
I hate that! It's almost impossible to get rid of the odor - foot powder doesn't do much if the sneaks are already, er, damaged. Foot sprays don't do much either. If you figure out a way to get the smell out of your sneakers, Jack, PLEASE let me know it.

I've got some Bob Marley and Cheech %26amp; Chong incense, from like a year ago. You are welcome to it!Is deciding to use foot powder a sign of spiritual maturity?
    That might be more: ';Self-protection at the job site';

Were you not incensed when you went to your desk????
    Um, yes. I have Sandalwood.

    Yup, incense is suuuure nice.
    Lovin' the pic, very nice.
When your shoes begin to smell like cat spray, it is time to toss them. The only way to get rid of your malignant foot odor is napalm.
i would say you are learning to take care of your feet.
I've got some belladonna incense.. nighshade too.. take your pick...

Perhaps some Dr. Scholls in the future ;-)
get some tenactan and sacrafice those old shoes
More a sign of psychical and nasal comfort I'd think.
No, but you do need to double up on your magnesium intake. Demons! They never learn.
No, but bringing home 50 pound bags of flour and cutting them open on the living room floor and taking off your clothes and rolling in it, instead of taking a shower, is a sign of spiritual renewal.
I would hazard a guess that it's more a sign of hygenic maturity than spiritual.
I wouldn't read too much into it. If your feet stink, you have to do something, regardless of your beliefs.

Yes, and you can also try Gold Bond medicated powder.
yes. but it would be better to use foot powder since the foot has more bacterial growth if you use baby powder thus requiring more frequent cleansing.
though some believe it can be but shouldnt be simple boric powder would be better or a mixture of calamine boric powder and zinc oxide can be used for this purpose

Does goldbond foot powder really work?

i have a food odor problem and i need to know if it worksDoes goldbond foot powder really work?
Yep. It'll keep your feet dry. Bacteria need moisture to do their thing. I believe it's also medicated, so it acts to kill bacteria/fungus.

I work a broiler in a kitchen and in these summer months, it's GB in the shoes and shorts before each shift. Was in the army for a while too and we traveled on our feet most of the time. That's where I learned about GB.

Try to wear sandals or clean socks when you can too. Hang out in your bare feet on your days off. The whole DRY=BAD PLACE FOR BACTERIA thing. Worse case, get some new shoes too. You might have a nasty colony of bacteria in those shoes.

Does goldbond foot powder really work?
Yeah it works. I have a rather embarrassing story about it. I used to shower at my gym, but there was this gay guy who would constantly make sure to talk to me while he was naked in the locker room. So I stopped showering after working out and eventually developed jock itch. Goldbond cleared it right up though. That stuff is pretty good. I am sure they won't put this story in a commercial, but it worked well enough for me not to have to shower with gay guys that constantly looked me up and down while showering. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not my cup of tea.
    I use that or tinactin

Start wearing shoes that breathe (with sox)

Basically you need shoes with breather holes

Never use vinyl shoes - they make you sweat more

The best solution is as follows:Choose sandals that have very closely woven bands that look more like shoes. When worn with dark socks they look fine.

    Additional idea:

I don't know if these work, but I saw some Geox shoes in Thailand that look great but supposedly breathe through the sole(and no they don't leak!)How do you get rid of STINKIE FEET? Besides (wash them)! :~} Tried foot powder! Still VERY RANK!?

Either soak your feet in a water/apple cider vinegar solution or wipe them with a washcloth soaked in apple cider vinegar.
Use bleach when you wash your socks. Always wears socks with your shoes. Wash your feet every day. If your shoes are old, replace them.

try using it as your foot deo powder.
Wear socks--- that is a huge factor.

It could also be your shoes themselves.
you have a fungus on them. Go to the dr.

Does fabreeze work better than goldbond foot powder?

Currently am I wondering if I am allowed to bring foot powder and cough drops to army basic training?

You'll be able to buy foot powder, don't take it with you, it will go to waste. You MAY NOT possess cough drops, they are considered ';candy,'; and you'll have to throw them away. If you get a cold, the infirmary will give you Sucrets, but your DS will keep them in a box and give you a daily supply every morning. People used to buy sucrets for a few dollars a piece in basic (the people who didn't need them to begin with...)Currently am I wondering if I am allowed to bring foot powder and cough drops to army basic training?
Foot Powder, yes you will be able to bring it with you, it is considered personal hygiene, as long as it is just a basic foot powder, nothing too too fancy.

Cough Drops, as long as they are plain, no fruity or flavorful ones, just the plain nasty hall ones. When i went through basic they took us to a shoppette to get anything we didnt have or needed like three times, the trips aren't frequent so make sure you have enough of everything you need, also try not to go to sick call because then you will miss training and possibly get recycled (start over) good luck!Currently am I wondering if I am allowed to bring foot powder and cough drops to army basic training?
you can bring it but they will probably either make you throw it away or send it back home. I wasn't in the Army but I was in the Navy and basically one of the first things they made us do was throw away or send back home all of our personal effects that were not on their specific list of things to bring to basic training.
No, you will not be able to. They will have you package it up and mail it home-at your expense.

Magnesium is a solid at room temperature in its pure state. It is not necessarily a powder, though. No. It is not safe at all after 4 years. Is it safe to use magnesium powder 4 years after it expires?
you are probably defeating the purpose, they put those dates on those items for a reason, they will not benifit you , you are not sure you say , and you have had them a long time so just bin them, as you wont have any confidience in them anyway
I would not use it myself, but you can call the Natural Calm company and ask for sure...

    (800) 446-7462
probably not after 4 years, maybe after a couple of months but it's better not to use it and be safe
It probably isn't safe... they put an expiration date on for a reason, you know!

    Magnesium powder+Copper sulphate+water=?

This is a simple displacement reaction - the more reactive magnesium displaces the less reactive copper from a solution of its salt. ....

magnesium + copper sulphate = copper + magnesium sulphate

    Mg + CuSO4 ----%26gt; MgSO4 + Cu

the blue colour of the copper sulphate will disappear and the silver coloured magnesium will be replaced by brown-red copper metal.

    Hope this helps.Magnesium powder+Copper sulphate+water=?
    -%26gt; MgSO4(aq) + Cu(s)

The reaction is exothermic so you could informally write:

    -%26gt; MgSO4(aq) + Cu(s) +'heat'

  • Heating Magnesium Powder?

What changes happen to magnesium powder after you heat it?Heating Magnesium Powder?
As magnesium powder has a large surface area, It will combust and react with oxygen in the air to form magnesium oxide, a white powder and a base. The solid material will convert from a metallic grey colour to a white powder.

    The equation is as follows:

    2Mg(s) + O2(g) -----------%26gt; 2MgO (s)Heating Magnesium Powder?
It will combine with oxygen and burn very hot very fast. Like white hot! watch out, it's the stuff that makes the best and brightest and loudest white fireworks!
If you heat it in air

It reacts with nitrogen and oxygen

    2Mg + O2 -------%26gt; 2MgO

    3Mg + N2 --------%26gt; Mg3N2

    Magnesium powder under zippo fluid?

Can fresh magnesium powder be kept under zippo fluid ( light naptha ) and be safe from oxidation to use at a later date.Magnesium powder under zippo fluid?
That should work. There can still be some oxidation, but it'll be minimized.

Metals like sodium are kept under heavier liquids, like kerosene or mineral oil, then something lighter like hexane is use to rinse off the oil.Magnesium powder under zippo fluid?
I'd favor something less volatile. Suppose the naptha ignited? KABOOM. Anyway, kerosine is cheap.

You'll have a tough time getting it shipped if you order it online; at least in the US, most shipping companies classify it as ';dangerous when wet'; and refuse to ship it or charge a huge hazmat fee (some sellers get around this by mixing it 50/50 with Mg turnings). Aluminum powder or magnesium-aluminum alloy (magnalium) might be easier to find...Where can i get some Magnesium Metal Powder in the uk?
Try the local chemist shop; but be prepared to be investigated.

dya know what magnesium does when it heats? it superheats and then explodes.

the two ways of doing this is to expose it to some form of liquid: acid or even just water. the second way is just to heat it up a bit...boom.

    cuz even chicks like explosions!

meow.Who can tell me what is the use of magnesium powder in ammunition?
    2Mg + O2 ---%26gt; 2MgO

This combustion produces lots of heat. magnesium burns white hot. It is used in incendiary devices and flares. It can throw off a heat seeking missile.Who can tell me what is the use of magnesium powder in ammunition?
It is a combustible. Magnesium reacts powerfully with oxygen and can be used to provide the propellant.
Tracer rounds! The magnesium lights up like a flare, even during daylight! Actually that was stupid and redundant, flares are made from magnesium! I was out in the sun all day...sorry!!
It explodes the bullet through the barrel. It is the main source in gun powder.
That's the silver stuff in fire crackers-probably an igniter.
